Imola
This town gate is located on the outskirts of the historical centre, along the remains of the old medieval wall which surrounded Imola.
It is believed that this gate was built between 1460 and 1472 by the Manfredi family.
The antique name of the gate was "Pusterla" (meaning secondary entrance) and later because of its position - facing the hills - it changed name ti Porta Montanara (Gate of the Hills).
It has a square base and is crowned on three sides by Ghibelline merlons.
