Santerno River beaches

The stretch of the River Santerno that runs through the municipality of Castel del Rio, from Moraduccio on the Tuscan border to the striking Ponte Alidosi, is one of the most evocative riverside landscapes in Italy.

There are two main leisure areas. The first is in Valsalva, a small hamlet 4 km from Castel del Rio, the second at the Alidosi Bridge itself. Limpid, emerald green waters offer great opportunities for bathing or fishing (where permitted).

This part of the Santerno valley is simply unique, its Santerniana vertical rock strata making it a place of outstanding natural beauty.
