The iron Bailey Bridge is the only remaining vestige of the time when the war front was in this area. It replaced the bridge over the Santerno river destroyed by aerial bombings. After the war, it was moved to Via Rineggio, where it still is today, at the request of the many families who then lived on the left bank of the river.
Casa del Fiume is an information point and visitor centre of the Vena del Gesso Romagnola Regional Park. The Centre has a front office, a multifunctional room, and three hectares of meadows between the Santerno riverbed and the surrounding riparian and floodplain wooded areas. A refreshment point and hostel are also available. This green area is criss-crossed by a network of trails such as the Ciclovia del Santerno (Santerno River Cycle Route) and some CAI (Italian Alpine Club) routes, while the grassy area nearby is equipped with picnic tables, a children playground and themed routes: a permanent orienteering route, a MTB pump track and the educational route “Gipsy e la magia del tempo” (“Gipsy and the magic of time”) where you can learn about the geological history of the Valley.
