War and Gothic Line Museum

Both museums are situated in the rooms of Alidosi Palace.

The building has been completely renovated and today is the seat of the Municipality of Castel del Rio.

It is possible to visit the Renaissance Courtyard of the Three Fountains located in the southern wing.
The War Museum was established in 1978 by a voluntary association based in Castel del Rio which started collecting war material found in the Santerno Valley. The collection has grown over the years thanks to the pieces donated by the Municipality, the Regional Institute for Artistic, Cultural and Natural Heritage and private citizens.

The Museum houses 1,600 pieces including weapons, uniforms, badges, documents and photographs.

It features Italian but also German, Allied and Russian material. Worth a special mention are the Texas T6 plane (placed in the palace's gardens), a Brixia mortar and an American 75 canon.
The museum is divided into three sections: the First World War, the Second World War in the Santerno Valley and the Resistance (some locals were deported in German concentration camps).
