It is one of the most exciting findings of the eastern Bologna area: the paleo-Christian Basilica dedicated to Saints Peter and Paul, of which are preserved the big perimeter walls and the bases of the nave columns. The area, which was a burial place in the 14th century, is located over evident material traces of a Roman settlement dating back to the II century B.C.
The site is in the "Borgo" neighbourhood of Castel San Pietro Terme, in an urban area which has been hosting human settlements starting at least from the 1st century B.C.
