Founded in 1962, CLAI (Cooperative of Agricultural Workers in Imola) is an agricultural cooperative in integrated production.
It is a reference point on the market for the production of fresh pork and beef, specialized in the production of salami.
The complete control of the whole food chain, from the cultivation of land, to the breeding of fine heavy pigs of the Po Valley, to the slaughter, the processing and marketing of finished products makes CLAI unique on the European scene .
The company has maintained its headquarters in Sasso Morelli Imola (Bologna).
Today it has over 250 members, 400 employees and a network of 80 agents.
The 2009 turnover reached 180 million euros.
Deeply rooted in his homeland, the Cooperative was created to offer to peasants new forms of organization able to meet the challenges of modernity.
Over the years the company has steadily grown to be ready to face the changes of an evolving market.
Today CLAI represents one of the leading integrated food companies in Italy.
The splendid Villa La Babina, Imola in the hamlet of Sasso Morelli, houses the Head Office of the Cooperative, who oversaw the complete restoration.
