The Carrera is a manifestation of the city, only in Italy, founded in 1954 as part of the Mutton Chop Festival in Castel San Pietro.

The Association was formed in 1984 to better organize the event, to help participants to refine and treat the competition rules, to organize the "Carrera for children" (which takes place in late May), helping the team to grow (especially those who are young and inexperienced).

The activity, which involves the whole city, is essentially based on voluntary, on the help of many economic activities and contributions of the City.
