Oasi del Quadrone natural reserve
In 1985 the Province of Bologna declared the "Cassa del Quadrone" a provincial wildlife reserve.
Regional funds and the contribution of the Cooperativa LACME (the owner of these lands) provided the reserve with a Visitors' Centre equipped with observation facilities.
A route is also available. This small reserve is located north-east of Medicina, nearby the hamlet of Buda.
Unlike most of the reserves in the Province of Bologna, hunting is strictly forbidden. It stretches over a 40-hectare area surrounded by fields scattered with sheets of water and a wet woodland.
It features a remarkable biodiversity and especially a wide variety of birds as it is an ideal place for nest-building.

Opening hours: Sundays and holidays: 9.00 am - 1.00 pm, 2.30 pm - 6.30 pm.
Opening period: from march to june and from september to november.
Groups: admission on reservation.

How to get to Medicina
From Medicina, follow Via Nuova, a long straight road which intersects with the Highroad S.Vitale in the stretch between Ganzanigo and Crocetta.
Go past the village of Via Nuova and the "Canale Emiliano-romagnolo" (a canal marking the border between Emilia and Romagna). After a few kilometres is the hamlet of Buda. Follow the sign-roads to reach the nearby reserve.
