The church placed in San Martino dates back to the Middle Age.
It has been subject to several restorations and completely rebuild in 1875 by architect Vincenzo Brighenti.
The old church was oriented to the east and located along the bank of the river Sillaro (now via Medesano).
It features a classic facade, and two orders of double pilasters.
The back bell tower belongs to the old church that has been demolished.
The internal structure of the church presents a single nave with three chapels and chancel marked by freestanding columns and it reflects the traditional neoclassical style of Bolognese churches.
Above the altar, a piece depicting St. Martin, bishop of Tours, attributed to Sironi.
