Pilasters in Villa Fontana
The two small pilasters are located in the hamlet of Villa Fontana at the beginning of Via Pilastrino which takes its name from them.
They probably date back to the 19th century and are an example of popular architecture.
They are covered by a sandstone cap surmounted by a cross and contain an image of Our Virgin Lady of St. Lucas, made of Romagna's ceramics.
The two pilasters bear witness to the local religiousness.

How to get to Medicina
The hamlet of Villa Fontana is located to the north-west of Medicina, not far from the highroad S. Vitale (SS 253). The two pilasters stand at the beginning of the nearby Via Pilastrino.
