The "Porticone" is a brick arcade located on the eastern side of Via Saffi, southward. Architect Angelo Venturoli built it in the late 18th century by order of the town councillors who personally financed the construction works.

The "Porticone" had to be the first of a series of arcades running up to the Church of the Observance that were never built.
