Museum of the Fortress
The Fortress was built in the 13th century as a fortified building for military purposes.
In the 16th century, however, it was transformed into a noble residence by the Malvezzi-Campeggi family.
The visit to the museum starts on the first floor, where a number of rooms and the main hall house several paintings.
The fortress also features the so-called "razor well" (lined with sharp metal projections), a kitchen, prisons, towers, patrol trenches and an internal courtyard with two rows of columns.
In the fortress furnishings dating back from the 15th to the 19th centuries can be found.
Guided visits to the museum are available on reservation.
The fortress also houses a bookshop selling cards, posters, books and catalogues.
