Donazione Mascellani

Dozza's fortress houses the Norma Mascellani Collection.

Mascellani, who was taught by Giorgio Morandi, is considered one of Bologna's best female painters.

She took part in Dozza's Biennial Exhibition of the Painted Wall.

The collection consists of 22 paintings which the painter herself donated to Dozza in 1996.

Other 44 works were given to Grizzana Morandi and Pieve di Cento in the same year.

The paintings cover a period spanning from 1931 to 1995.

Following Morandi's lesson, Mascellani achieved an original style and depicted various periods of Italy's history: from 1950s to 1980s up until nowadays.
