Church of San Giovanni Battista - Belvedere
The castle and the church stood on a plain where the eye ranges far in the Romagna landscapes, hence the name Belvedere.
The landslide of 1667 bankrupted the remains of the castle and the parish church. The church was then moved further down in its current location, and the new village was built around it.
In 1850 the church was enlarged and transformed.
In 1916 a new rectory was built and the church was adorned with a colored marble floor tiles, altars and a baptistery in grit.

How to get to Castel del Rio
The village of Belvedere, located on the ridge between the Sillaro and Santerno, at an altitude of 463 m above sea level, is located about 7 km from Castel del Rio.
Accessible by private car from the SS Imola Montanara.
Before arriving at Castel del Rio, at the junction turn right following signs for Belvedere.
After 5 km turn left at the roundabout and after about 2 km to Belvedere.
The church is located on the main road to the town center. Accessible from Castel del Rio and Castel San Pietro by ATC.
