According to documentary evidence, this church already existed in 812. In 1605, the Dominican monks rebuilt it.

However, after the ravages of the Second World War, architect V. Fiorentini rebuilt it once again.

It is dedicated to Our Lady of the Assumption in St. Michael.

It houses a beautiful Madonna with the Child dating back to the end of the 14th century (it may be a work of Vitale's School in Bologna) and a 15th century "Pietà".
