The rectangular memorial has a bas-relief representing Pietro Inviti and bears the inscription:
"PIETRO INVITI
Born on July 24th, 1821, died on August 26th, 1907.
He took the love of this town of Emilia region to the conspiracies and battles of his reborn country Italy! Italy! And as a young boy he fought in Veneto and in Ancona. Italy! Italy! In 1850, promoted by the Italian society, together with Luigi Tanari and Camillo Casarini he audaciously created the temporary government of Romagna. As captain and colonel, he demonstrated once again military virtues. During the meetings of Parliament and of Bologna Municipality he confirmed that civil greatness and social welfare are represented by order and freedom.
Placed by the citizens on August 20 MCMXII as a sign of remembrance."
The memorial was hung in 1912, during a demonstration, in memory of his fine actions for the unity of Italy.
