Resistance monument
The Resistance Monument was created to remind to citizens and visitors the strong contribution, in terms of activities and human lives, made by San Pietro Terme during the anti-fascist fight and the Liberation war.
The Resistance Monument is located in a corner full of trees in Piazza Martiri Partigiani, near the corner of Viale Roma and Viale Marconi.
The Monument has a pointed parallelepiped shape, heading towards the sky, made from marble by artist Giuseppe Bellettini.
On an sandstone stone at its foot there is the following inscription:
"In memory of resistance to fascism and nazism, for freedom and democracy, Castel San Pietro Terme 1922-1945"
The monument was created in April 1985 and inaugurated on April 25th, on the occasion of the 40th anniversary of the Italian Liberation, in memory of the anti-fascist fight of the citizens of Castel San Pietro Terme, for the ideals of freedom and equality that characterised the historical period between 1921 and 1945.
Around the monument there is a garden with a bed always full of flowers.

On April 25th and on the first Sunday of November, the Municipal Administration, together with the Fighting Associations, organises a commemorative celebration with placement of laurel wreaths on the monuments and stones for the dead.
Usually Army Associations, the Band, public and private schools, associations of different types and simple citizens take place to this celebration.
Commemoration of the events is generally directed by the Mayor or by a member of the fighting associations of the Province.
