Official Tourist Information Site of Imola's Area
Castel San Pietro was surrounded by imposing walls built in the 15th century. A communication trench led to the entrance of the main castle. Today, only one embattled tower, located east of the Cassero, and a stretch of walls along via Castelfidardo near the Sillaro River are left.
Another embattled tower, north of the Cassero, was partly destroyed during the Second World War. Later, it was completely demolished as it threatened to fall.
