Enoteca Regionale Emilia-Romagna

The Enoteca Regionale Emilia-Romagna , placed inside Dozza's Fortress, is the largest and most qualified showcase for the wines of our region.

Among the ancient castle walls, the wineries have been perfectly restored, and are available for tasting and sales of DOC and DOCG regional wines, representing about 200 members, with over 600 wines selected by a qualified panel of experts.

The Enoteca Regionale Emilia-Romagna was founded in 1970 by the City of Dozza, Pro Loco and some local producers, with the participation of public institutions of the Province of Bologna interested in the wine sector.

Later, in 1978, the authority of Emilia-Romagna, with a special law, designated the Enoteca as the best tool to promote the regional wine both in Italy and abroad.

The fortress is a fine example of 13th-century architecture. After a careful restoration work the space has been extended and rationalized.

Opened in May 1990, the new headquarters are located in about 1,000 square meters that wholly occupy  the ancient underground and the ground floor of the fortress.

Here are located the offices and boardrooms.

The cellars host the exhibit hall, where visitors can taste and purchase wines.

It has been obtained a cave area with a room dedicated to white wines and one to red wines. Here, tastings can be made in presence of sommeliers.

A cannon emplacement of the fortress was the perfect place to store wines for aging, while the reservoir of the fortress was turned into a heated cell where they keep the wine to be subjected to chemical organoleptic tests.
On request, the halls of the fortress and catering service in Enoteca Regionale Emilia Romagna are available for weddings. (+39 0542 672408 Civil Office)
