The Mineral Waters Park is the historical green area of the city. It is mainly known for its recreational and sports functions but is undoubtedly valuable also from a botanic and historical point of view.
It is located in the southeast area of the city and nowadays is completely surrounded by the “Enzo e Dino Ferrari” Racetrack.
It originated from the discovery of sulphur curative water springs made by Dr. Gioacchino Cerchiari in 1830, which made the park immediately popular. In 1871 the Municipality of Imola arranged the area as a proper public park, providing it with paths and English-style flowerbeds. Nowadays, the park extends for about 11 hectares and boasts several tree species, either local and exotic. The park also includes the wooded hill known as "Monte Castellaccio" (Castellaccio Mount) that was the fist inhabitated area in prehistoric times.
After the recent restyling works the park now features two children’s playgrounds, a geological path leading up to Monte Castellaccio, a pond with aquatic birds and the fountain called "Naturalmente" located at the northern entrance.
In the western part of the park rises the monument in memory of the F1 driver Ayrton Senna. 
The park also hosts a summer open-air disco.
