The telescope, a 410 mm Newton/Cassegrain model (relative aperture f/4.4 and f/17.6) is equipped with a 150/200 mm refractor. The observatory is also provided with a CCD ST-4 chamber and a new Starlight X Press SXL8. It features an H alpha filter which allows the observation of the solar prominences. The observatory also houses a collection of sundials created by Adelmo Eliogabili, one of its members.

How to get to Imola
The observatory is inside Tozzoni Park, over the first hills of Imola.
The observatory opens to the public every month in coincidence with the first quarter of the moon. Booking is required except in summer evenings.
Membership' benefits include:
- Entry to evening openings to observe the moon, the planets and other heavenly bodies held every month;
- Participation in outings to visit places of astronomical interest such as observatories, planetariums and museums; and
- Free subscription to newsletters and other publications issued every year by the Observatory (an almanac that contains information about the sun, the phases of the moon, the movements of planets and other phenomena as well as several astronomy articles).
