Official Tourist Information Site of Imola's Area
Built by Taddeo Manfredi – Lord of Imola before the Sforza family- in the 15th century, very few relics remain of the ancient fortification wall that surrounded the town.
It was Manfredi himself who ordered the construction of the four gates of access to the town. Today only Porta Montanara remains standing.
The walls were destroyed at the end of the 19th century for the new urban developments.
