Official Tourist Information Site of Imola's Area
The Bishop's Residence rises in front of the Cathedral of St. Cassiano. Built in the 12th century along with the new cathedral, it was enlarged in the 15th and 16th century. The present building is the result of the restoration works carried out in the second half of the 18th century by Cosimo Morelli. The imposing façade is made less severe by the symmetric arrangement of the windows and two large doorways. The main staircase leads from the courtyard to the first floor. Pilaster strips surmounted by Doric capitals and large windows alternate creating an impressive perspective effect.
