Official Tourist Information Site of Imola's Area
The building rises behind the head office of Rolo Banca 1473 to which it belongs. Despite several modern adaptations, it preserves its original aspect.
Indeed, Palazzo Pighini is Imola's only example of medieval noble residence. Built in the second half of the 13th century, it was the dwelling of many noble families and was the seat of the podestà (lord of the town) until the end of the 14th century.
The severe façade features narrow mullioned windows with two lights and loopholes placed in an asymmetric way.
The ground floor stands out is austere look and four different-sized doorways.
