Official Tourist Information Site of Imola's Area
The present building is the result of the restoration works carried out by the Machirelli family in 1480. The original façade featured a three tier lay-out and an ashlar skirting-board. Today the courtyard is the only part left of the 15th century building. A portico with sandstone columns decorated with terracotta medallions rims three sides of the courtyard. The elegant main staircase leads to the rooms of the first floor. The Pompeian decorations of the ceilings date back to the restoration works of 1837. Lastly, the "Seasons Hall" is embellished by plaster-framed paintings depicting mythological scenes.
