It was built by the Della Volpe family in the second half of the 1400's.
Taddeo Della Volpe born there in 1474. Taddeo was General Captain of the Republic of Venice.
From 1518 to 1820 the building housed the "Sacro Monte di Pietà" (pawnbroker's).
This building is opposite the Municipal Library. The side overlooking Via Don Bughetti appears as a fortified house, because of the scarp wall in the lower part and the corbel arches supporting the façade.
