Official Tourist Information Site of Imola's Area
The church was built by the Servite friars who settled in Imola in the first half of the 14th century.
The original, single-aisle building with cabin-front was restored in the 16th century and raised at the end of the 19th century.
The current front is preceded by an arcade built in the 16th century with the armorial bearings of Pope Julius II and of many important families of the city engraved on it. The inside has a single aisle and four side-chapels for each side.
In the third altar on the right there is a valuable statue of Our Lady of Sorrows sculptured by the artist Scandellari.
