The museum was founded in 1857 and it's located in the former convent of St. Domenico dating back about to 1250.

The museum still respects the strict original plannig composed by archaeological,  geologic and naturalistic sections.

How to get to Imola

 

It's located in the town centre.
From the tollgate follow the directions to the town centre and then those for the Musei-Pinacoteca (the art gallery).
From the train station go towards the centre and after the second traffic-light turn into the second street on the right, Via Cavour. Follow this road, after passing the Public Park you find via Sacchi on the left.
